Steel Scrap Consumption is Going to be at Another High Point

Collected by the statistics in 2017, the steel scrap consumption has reached about 150 million tons in the whole year of 2017, which is increased by about 65% compared with steel consumption quantity in 2016. With such quantity of steel scrap consumption, we can see in the next 2- 3 years China can enlarge the production capacity to 120 million tons and meanwhile the consumption for steel scrap could be increased to further level in future.

The main reason for steel scrap consumption increasing in China is request by government to lift the utilization rate for steel scraps request to steel mills. The utilization rate is requested to be lifted from 12% to 21%. And in future this rate could be to another higher level. Chinese steel mills are doing good enough with the guiding policy from Chinese government.
