301L stainless steel cold-rolled plate is a special stainless steel cold-rolled plate for manufacturing stainless steel car body, which originated in Japan and Europe, 301L stainless steel has metastable characteristics, not only high yield strength, because the plastic deformation can induce martensitic strengthening phase, work hardening ability is very strong, compared with the previous stainless steel, reduce the content of carbon elements, and increase the hydrogen element. The addition of hydrogen can eliminate the intergranular corrosion of stainless steel welding site.

The content of C, N and Ni of the chemical composition of the plate, as well as the amount of cold-rolled deformation determine the strength grade and mechanical properties of 301L stainless steel cold-rolled plate. C, N and Ni are stable austenite elements, and the lower the content of austenite, the lower the stability of austenite; The larger the cold-rolling deformation of the sheet, the more deformation induced martensitic phase variables, the stronger the work-hardening effect and the higher the corresponding strength grade of the sheet. Due to the difference in the amount of deformation and martensitic transformation in cold rolling, the strength and plasticity of cold rolled sheets are not the same, and the Japanese standard system distinguishes the grades according to the strength grade.

 

China's vehicle special austenitic 301L stainless steel cold-rolled sheet is developed with reference to Japanese standards, at present, reference to the use of Japanese JIS G 4305 cold-rolled stainless steel technical standards, 301L stainless steel cold-rolled sheet has 5 strength grades, such as 301L-LT, 301L-DLT, 301L-ST, 301L-MT, 301L-HT, etc. The yield strength of the highest strength grade is up to 700MPa or more, which exceeds any other existing non-heat treated high-strength sheet. Here's a look at the comparison of five different strengths of 301L stainless steel:

 

301L-LT Stainless Steel Sheet/Plate/Coil/Strip:

Mechanical Properties: The suitable cold processing method has low strength, good flatness after rolling and large elongation.

Applicable Welding Method: arc welding heating has no effect on its mechanical properties, so spot welding and arc welding can be used.

Applicable Cold Processing methods: stamping, tensile bending and bending of parts with low strength requirements.

 

301L-DLT Stainless Steel Sheet/Plate/Coil/Strip:

Mechanical Properties: The strength is low, the secondary calendering rate is controlled in the range of 3% ~ 8%, the residual stress is small, the room temperature creep is small, and the surface flatness can be maintained.

Applicable Welding Method: arc welding heating has no great influence on its mechanical properties, so spot welding and arc welding can be used.

The cold processing method used: bending and drawing forming of parts with lower strength, especially the processing that does not use the flat machine for rolling.

 

301L-ST Stainless Steel Sheet/Plate/Coil/Strip:

Mechanical Properties: moderate strength, secondary calendering rate is controlled in the range of 6% ~ 12%, the flatness of the surface after calendering is good.

Applicable Welding Method: The strength of the material is not significantly reduced after heating, so it is mainly spot welding, and arc welding can be carried out.

Applicable Cold Processing Method: suitable for tensile bending or bending after bending of parts with high strength requirements.

 

301L-MT Stainless Steel Sheet/Plate/Coil/Strip:

Mechanical Properties: The secondary calendering rate is controlled in the range of 9% ~ 17%, the strength is higher, but the elongation is very low.

Applicable Welding Method: the strength decreases obviously after heating, try to avoid using arc welding and use spot welding.

Applicable Cold Processing Method: It is suitable for bending and rolling processing of complex broken panel parts with high strength.

 

301L-HT Stainless Steel Sheet/Plate/Coil/Strip:

Mechanical Properties: The secondary calendering rate is controlled in the range of 20% ~ 23%, the highest strength but the lowest elongation.

Applicable Welding Method: The strength suddenly drops after heating, try to avoid using arc welding and use spot welding.

 

Applicable Cold Processing Method: It is suitable for the cold bending process of high strength and complex section beam type through length parts.
