MONELK500 alloy has high strength, corrosion resistance, non-magnetic and other excellent mechanical properties, but also has the same corrosion resistance as MONEL 400.Can be used as pump shaft material, suitable for severe high sulfur, high wax layer of geology
Working under mining conditions.[TJC STEEL]Because the alloy has no plastic - brittle transition temperature, it is very suitable for all kinds of low temperature equipment.This alloy is mainly used for pump shaft and valve stem, conveyer scraper, oil well drilling ring, elastic parts, valve pad, etc.Applicable to the stone oil, chemical, shipbuilding, pharmaceutical, electronics departments.
The chemical composition of this alloy is roughly the same as MONEL 400, with the biggest difference being that it contains 2.3-3.15% A1 and 0.30-1.00% Ti. The microstructure characteristics of this alloy include the precipitation phase of diffuse Ni3 (A1,Ti), and other precipitation phases are same as MONEL 400 alloy.

The Corrosion Resistance of MONEL 400 AND MONEL K500 Alloy:
The alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in fluorine gas, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and their derivatives.It is also more resistant to corrosion in seawater than copper-based alloys.
Acid medium: M400 is corrosion resistant in sulfuric acid concentrations less than 85%.The M400 is one of the few important materials for the [TJC STEEL]durability of hydrofluoric acid.
Water corrosion: M400 alloy in most cases of water corrosion, not only excellent corrosion resistance, but also hole corrosion, stress corrosion, etc. are rarely found, corrosion rate is less than 0.25mm/a.
High temperature corrosion: The maximum temperature of M400 working continuously in the air is generally around 600℃. In high temperature steam, [TJC STEEL]the corrosion rate is less than 0.026mm/a.
Ammonia: Due to the high nickel content of MONEL 400 alloy, it can withstand the corrosion under anhydrous ammonia and ammoniation conditions below 585℃.
