Mechanical Properties:

Heat Treatment:

S355J2 steel plates are generally supplied in the untreated or normalized condition. Normalizing involves heating the steel to a temperature above its upper critical point and then cooling in air. This process refines the grain structure and improves the mechanical properties of the steel.

Low-Temperature Impact Test:

S355J2 is required to undergo a Charpy V-notch impact test at -20°C, which ensures that the material maintains its toughness and impact resistance at low temperatures. The minimum impact energy is specified as 27J.
